Ride & Dine Hollywood Studios (Top 5 Rides & Snacks)
Hollywood Studios might be my favorite park in all of Walt Disney World (Orlando). I can never decide, but this park does hold a lot of nostalgia for me, despite the many changes it has gone through over the years. It is definitely one of the hardest parks to navigate because it is small but mighty. Every single ride is an absolute banger. On top of that, there is an abundance of delicious food and snack options. I’m here to break down the best of the best just for you!
#1
Everyone should ride Rise of the Resistance at least once. Be aware it can get very long lines throughout the day. It is a popular ride to rope drop (ride first thing in the morning). It is also the Lightning Lane Single Pass option for this park. So, if you plan on trying to skip the line, you will have to pay for it individually.
Woody’s Lunch Box Tarts are very popular. I highly recommend mobile ordering, so that you avoid waiting in a long snack line.
#2
Tower of Terror is an absolute must in this park. It is a unique drop ride because it actually uses a special ride pulley system that yanks the ride down rather than only shooting you upwards. Which means, you fall faster than gravity. Also, the falls are randomized so every time you ride it will be a different experience.
Ronto Wraps are very popular and are a hearty snack that feel like a light meal. Be prepared to get them early because Ronto Roasters closes at 3:00 p.m. each day. At which point you can also get them at Docking Bay 7.
#3
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is whimsy and delight at its absolute finest. There were some emotions when this ride replaced the ‘great movie ride’ inside the Chinese theatre, but it is truly amazing. It is a blast for everyone and should be made a priority. It can get very long lines throughout the day, but is more likely to fluctuate.
Baseline Tap house is great bang for your buck. Plus, I have never been disappointed in anything. The beers on tap rotate and the snacks are elevated bar bites. I suggest sitting outside for a bit of luxuriation while you enjoy your brews.
#4
Slinky Dog Dash is one of the most popular rides in this park because it is a great roller coaster for the whole family and who doesn’t want to feel like a toy in Andy’s back yard? Be aware that if using Lightning Lane Multi Pass (the skip the line service) this needs to be your top priority selection prior to your trip because it is likely to sell out and will always have incredibly long lines.
ABC Commissary is often overlooked in this park, but will always be one of my recommendations. Don’t sleep on food that is so much better than basic theme park food. You should enjoy everything you put into your mouth.
#5
Rockin’ Roller Coaster is a dream for thrill seekers. Whenever someone says Disney is just for kids I tell them about this ride. While, it is much beloved, the wait time tends to fluctuate throughout the day. The most important note is that by 2026 this ride will be quite different because the muppets are going to be featured instead of Aerosmith. This major re-theme will soon be in the works. How do you feel about this change? Send a message! I would love to know your thoughts. :)
Kat Saka’s Kettle serves a buttered grain popcorn as well. It is good, but the outpost mix is better. Treat yourself and don’t be afraid of the spice. It is perfectly balanced!
All other rides in Hollywood Studios that didn’t make my top list and why:
Alien Swirling Saucers: It didn’t make the list because it just isn’t that unique.
Star Tours: It didn’t make the list because it makes me incredibly nauseous.
Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run: It didn’t make the list because I don’t like being paired up on a mission with random strangers.
Toy Story Mania: It didn’t make the list because if I’m going to enjoy a shooter style attraction, I would rather do Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom.
