Flower and Garden Festival
Epcot, located in Walt Disney World (Orlando), is known for their incredible festivals throughout the year. If you are visiting while one of the festivals is happening, you should consider it a must do. There are four festivals that occur during different seasons throughout the year. My all time favorite is the Flower and Garden Festival.
Let’s talk about it because it deserves its flowers! See what I did there?
First, you need to know that, although you will most definitely want to purchase unique food and drink items from the festival booths, your entry doesn’t cost anything extra. One of the best things about the Epcot festivals is that they are not a specialty ticketed event. This means that as long as you have a general park ticket, you can experience everything the festival has to offer without extra fees added on to your vacation. The Flower and Garden Festival typically runs from March through May.
As a spring loving girlie, I find the park to be absolutely stunning during this time of year. I just love it! So, let’s talk about all of the amazing features of this incredible festival. While strolling around Epcot you will be able to…
Enjoy the beauty of the abundant gardens all around the park that pop with vibrant colors and lush greenery.
Check out Butterfly Landing. A walk through experience filled with pollinator facts and flying beauties everywhere you turn.
Experience live entertainment at the Garden Graze Concert series. Each night, different performers come to the stage in the American Adventure pavilion.
Keep your eyes open to spot all of the breath taking topiaries scattered throughout the parks featuring different Disney characters.
Eat and Drink delicious specialty items from the many booths scattered around the parks. Many of the items feature vegetables and produce directly from Epcot’s living with the land attraction. Everything is fresh and packed with extraordinary flavor. The Food is a major highlight of every Epcot festival, but this one hits differently every year. It is just so amazing to know that you are able to enjoy bites that were grown right there!
I love a good fun fact and plant fun facts are some of the best! For those that don’t know I have a black thumb even though I absolutely love plants and try my hardest to grow them. I wish I had a green thumb.
Good thing for us, the horticulture team has the greenest of thumbs and the park is gorgeous every year.
Now that we have talked more about the plants, to wrap things up, I want to tell you just a little more about the food.
Must Do when it comes to Food
Grab a Festival Passport upon entering the park. This will be your guide to all of the amazing, specialty food and drink options offered. It includes full menus for every booth and their locations.
Complete the Garden Graze Food Crawl. This is a fun way to try lots of different food items and you are rewarded for your efforts! The food crawl highlights specific items (at the back of your passport) for you to try. For each one that you try, ask for a stamp in your book. Once you have tried five, you receive a free specialty flavored dole whip in a souvenir cup.
While all of the Epcot festivals have much to offer and include delicious food, Flower and Garden will forever be my personal favorite. Will you try to make this festival a priority on your next trip? I would highly recommend it! Thank you so much for reading!
